While making these custom sleeves (for a digital camera and DS Lite), I used the leftover pieces (basically a miscut) to make one for me. My sewing and cutting areas are messy and I'm always looking for my scissor and tape measure. I tried that Project Runway method of looping around my next but it resulted in near strangulation and tripping (they must have weights at the end of theirs to steady them).
A mini pleated pocket was added for the tape measure and an 1/2 inch polypropylene strap was used to make it portable and accessible. It's roomier enough for scissors, pencil and (hopefully an underused) seam ripper.
All ready for an afternoon of sewing :)
