Black and white sewing projects

Project #1: My most ambitious project to date...this zippered top messenger bag with a built in padded lap top sleeve. It was basically a variation of the bag found here.

For the zippered top, I used a tutorial at Craftster -- it looks harder than it actually is. I'm looking forward to incorporating this into other purses. I like the inside divider, the zippered pouch on the front (which lays over another set of pockets) and the padded handles.

The fabric is a petite houndstooth in a wool blend, which I thought was classic and elegant. The liner is an Alexander Henry floral print which added feminity.

Project #2 -- I found these rectangles of this bold print with enormous palm branches and thought they would make striking handbags. They are quilted inside for soft yet sturdy support. More pics can be found at my shop.

Project #3 -- I made several of these business card wallets with some of the leftover fabric. Quick, cute and functional projects. Again more pics and details in the shop.

Have a great day!

Love the monochrome look. And am very impressed with the zippered pocket - very professional.

And you got all these projects done this weekend? Nice work! The messenger bag does look complicated - but the black and white look very classy. I love it when the liner coordinates and is beautiful like that.
