I was commissioned to create a feminine laptop tote bag.
The original design was to have an "outie" zipper where the ends are exposed, but when I realized that the dimensions of the zipper casing and the bag were the same, I changed to a fully enclosed one (but almost broke my Singer in the process).
It's padded throughout with quilt batting (from my mom's great stash) to protect the laptop. So soft and cuddly -- it can double as a pillow in a pinch!
Here is a handy waiter's apron for the same commision-er with secure pockets for cash and change. There are plenty of pockets for a calculator, pens, and biz cards. There's even a personalized label!

Your laptop bag is well-planned. I have a very utilitarian bag and have been thinking about making one more attractive (at least to me). Thanks for sharing your idea--the recipient will love it.
I absolutely love both projects! I just ordered some of that brown flowery fabric for myself. I'm planning some sort of patchwork bag. Awesome job!
