New tote bag

Lately I've been wanting a new bag...my dragonfly bag was cute, but it wasn't roomy enough for a knitting project and lacked enough pockets.

I found this upholstery fabric at a school sale (they had a truckload of donations). It has a subdued medallion pattern on a plum background. Not sure of the fiber content, but it has a crisp hand. It feels wonderful to cut through it -- like a perfectly ripe watermelon.

I wanted some exterior "mommy" pockets for snacks, confiscated items, Kleenex -- basically a place for easy access. Also, it had to be large enough for a file folder and a knitting project. A loop and button closure was chosen over a magnetic snap -- they always pop open with my overflowing contents.I love it! The handles are padded and comfortable and there is a quilted interior (I prefer softer bags). Improvements would be to have larger pocket, both exterior and interior.
