Baking: Danish bread

A friend came over for a baking get together which provided an incentive to try something new. We decided on a danish bread in Baking with Julia. Using a food processor the dough came together quick and easy.

We also learned to make a simple custard via the microwave -- no more endless stirring over the stove.

Can you guess which one was our first attempt? They key was to work fast, wait for the custard to cool to room temp before using (it was melting the butter, creating a sticky mess), and to roll a wider rectangle so the braids overlapped more. It's a great way to use up leftover jams :)
